Christmas in San Francisco

23 12 2010

Okay, so technically it isn’t Christmas yet, but for the past 3 years my family and I have been having Christmas either earlier or later than usual. It’s easier for us all to connect because we live far from one another. My brother lives in San Francisco so we all decided to meet up there last week for 5 days. It was amazing!! I could live there for a while… there was just something about it. I needed more time to explore I think.

Here are a few photos from our trip…
Happy Holidays!

Fashion Shoot in the Snow

4 12 2010

Here are a few photos I wanted to share with you. We decided to use a hint of red, ’tis the season!
Enjoy xo

Poppy Red.

12 11 2010

I know these aren’t poppies, but they are so warm and beautiful. The colour of red reminded me of the poppy which I am wearing today in honour of our veterans… plus it’s dumping snow outside (which rocks) and these flowers keep my summer spirit happy. Enjoy

Blowing in the Wind

10 11 2010

Koz Creations is a feather jewelry business that my amazing friend Chelsea Kozlan has designed. She asked me to take some photos of her beautiful hand made jewelry, and of course I couldn’t resist taking photos of her as well! You can purchase her earrings on Etsy, just follow this link
Enjoy

Trees Amongst Themselves

8 11 2010

What makes a portrait personal? Is it the focus on detail, the eye contact, the lack of eye contact?
This moment in general was personal to me, maybe more so than for Chelsea. It was spontaneous and funny, the light just seemed right in that moment… the tree branches dancing amongst themselves.

Josh, Jules, James

22 10 2010

The triple “J”. I love all three of them, even though I haven’t known them for long, I enjoy spending time with them. They are so down to earth and such hard workers!!! Super proud of Jules she is a leather maker and hand crafts the most beautiful leather pieces. You should check out some of her stuff at this link. Anyways, thought I would share a few photos from the other morning’s coffee break. Enjoy.

just another day with my camera

19 10 2010

i have a love for corks…
well more so a love for wine, but the cork is what holds in the aromas.
now they are becoming extinct.
i started to collect them about 2 years ago and have accumulated hundreds… what to do with them all?
just another day with my camera.

and then of course… the random glimpses along my journey.

…but what about fall?

14 10 2010

I’ve come to terms with the seasons changing… I know I have no choice, but summer was too short this year and I couldn’t wrap my head around fall yet.

but…
this morning there was this beautiful thick layer of fog that seemed lower than where I live and as I looked at those beautiful mountains with the sun rising up behind them, I took a deep inhale of cool air and smiled.
Fall is such a beautiful time of the year… growing up in Ontario gave me a huge appreciation for its vibrant colours. I still think the fall time is the best season back home. Now living in a “ski town”, fall just seems to be overlooked as a season and more so as an introduction to “the season”… winter. Everyone is talking about winter already… but what about fall?

Rootz Underground

28 09 2010

I was asked by my good friend Reggie from Teeks Tekniques http://teekstekniques.com/ to come down to the GLC and take a few shots of a band he was promoting called Rootz Underground.
Did they ever get the crowd jumping…
Such high energy, always a pleasure to shoot musicians in that frame of mind. You should check out their site http://rootzunderground.com/ Enjoy xx

Inger Berit- Head Shot Session

24 09 2010

A day of beautiful rain…

Inger and I met up for coffee to chat and then headed up to Lost Lake for her head shot session. The rain was simply breathtaking the way it fell on the water… everything always looks so saturated and fresh!
Inger has such a passion for nature so I thought it would be appropriate to step away from the “studio” look and put her in her element… outdoors! Enjoy xo
